In a celebration of their tenth anniversary, Jetblue unveiled ICON Airtcrafts’s Icon A5 – a “bite-sized private jet with folding wings.”

Exhibited in perfect juxtaposition to the immense jet engines on display at J.F.K. Airport’s mini-aviation museum, the Icon A5 is small enough to fit into an average-sized garage. The lightweight carbon fiber airframe is outfitted with a wingspan of 34 ft, aircraft length of 22 ft, and minuscule aircraft height of 7.1 ft. Although the diminutive size only permits 60 pounds of luggage, the Icon A5 presents a cozy two-seater cabin bolstered with top-of-the-line technology, such as a GPS moving map, MP3 in-flight music port, LCD multifunction display, and removable side windows.

The Icon A5, which has deemed itself, “The very latest in sport aircraft design”, can reach a maximum speed of 120 mph, with a maximum traveling distance of 345 miles. Propelled by the steadfast 100 hp Rotax 912 ULS engine, the Icon A5 has an amphibious ability to take off from land or water.

Priced at $139,000, the Icon A5 will be available for purchase at the end of April.
